The Founder’s Memorial Marks the International Day of Sign Languages
In line with its social responsibility, and commitment to raise awareness on the importance of sign language as a means of communication with the deaf community who represent a significant segment the of society, The Founder’s Memorial hosted a delegation from the ‘Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination’ on the ‘International Day of Sign Language’ which coincides with 23rd September of each year.
On this occasion, a guided tour was provided led by one of the cultural tour specialist , accompanied by a sign language specialist from the association ,which enabled visitors to learn about the legacy and values of founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, manifested throughout the memorial; as well as his dedication and support to people of determination by establishing an overall environment that involves the entire community and strengthens social cohesion.
The tours also shed light on the founder’s role in integrating people of determination with various disabilities into the community, empowering them to achieve their aspirations and participate fully in society.
The Memorial’s by marking The ‘International Day of Sign Language’ aims to highlight the legacy of the founding father, and out of its stern commitment towards fostering various initiatives in line with the guidance and directives of the nation’s wise leadership.
It's worth mentioning that the UAE has achieved great achievements in this regard, and its endeavors to preserve the rights of people of determination to appease the challenges they face in their lives by providing the best opportunities to facilitate their integration in society. Present government strategic planning prioritizes the provision of further opportunities as well as creating harmony and mutual support amongst all categories in society
